A renai/pure love game with cute heroines, a nice story, and a slow pace.

長文感想

日本人:ごめんなさい。私の日本語わるいですから、このリビューは英語です。もしだれかが翻訳する、ありがとう。どぞ。さあ、リビューをはじめます!(To Japanese: I'm sorry. My Japanese is bad, so this review is in English. If someone wants to translate, thank you. Please do. Now, the review will start!)

So, I first played Faint Tone's trial version. The pacing of the story was rather slow, and I didn't really like it...But the heroines were so cute and I loved a lot about it enough that I acquired the game. I don't regret playing Faint Tone. This eroge has a rather low score here, and I understand why, but...it's not as bad as the score says. Why?

Story: The eroge focuses on Yuuya, who lives with both his parents. He lives an ordinary life until one day, his parents announce they'll be living apart. He must choose between staying in the city or living a new life in the country...There's more to it, but that's the basic story. The pacing of Faint Tone is both a positive and negative point. The slower pacing allows the player to become attatched to the heroines and the world of Faint Tone, however I must admit that I did sometimes get bored playing because of how slow it was. The heroine routes were good! Otoha and Koito had the best routes, followed by Rua, and then Suzume....Suzume's route felt too long for a heroine who wasn't even the real main heroine!! It was frustrating playing her route because of how tsundere she is. When her kind, dere side showed, I didn't mind her too much, but...Overall, her route was a mess. Rua's route was very cute, but an issue I had with it was the length. It felt entirely too short! But that's a minor complaint...I love Rua! 留亜ちゃんが大好きです!Koito's route was very sweet. Though I must say, the ending of her route felt like it wasn't quite an ending...Maybe that's just me though. w Otoha absolutely has the best route. Everything was perfect! If a few things were fixed, like Suzume's route's length, I think I would enjoy this game a lot more.

Art: The art in this game is absolutely beautiful. The coloring and shading looks so amazing, though I don't quite like how YU-TA drew Suzume. Other than that, the art was almost perfect!

Music: Though basic, the music in Faint Tone is very well done. It makes me remember older eroge...The vocal songs are definitely a highlight: with Amaoto Junca's strong voice and the rock feeling instrumental, the city opening song "Onaji Hoshi no Ue de", or "On the Same Star", is the best song in the whole game. The rual opening, "promise you" is a comforting song, but nothing too special..."Melty Color" is a nice insert song, I think. It fits the scene it played in. Overall, the BGM in Faint Tone isn't bad, but nothing too amazing either, not counting the vocal songs.

H-scenes: The erotic scenes in Faint Tone are very sweet, but admittedly, I think this game could have done without these scenes, except for Otoha's first H-scene...The way the scene progressed felt so natural I can't see it any other way! The art was nice, the writing was okay, but H-scenes weren't really needed, I think.

Overall: A renai/pure love game with loveable heroines, a slower paced story, nice BGM and an overall warm, sweet feeling, Faint Tone is a wonderful eroge debut by eroge developer Reon. Though the game suffers from the slower pace and Suzume's quickly changing tsundere personality, I absolutely recommend it. If this game fixed the negatives, I could easily rate it a 90 out of 100, but sadly the flaws prevent me from doing so. If you're new to eroge or just want to play something simple, Faint Tone is highly recommended!
